Right you are. My mistake.

Brought it up since a whole bunch of mini-cassette recorder guts I
have here all have a photodiode or phototransistor in the cassette loading
mechanism. Not sure why they don't use a mechanical switch, but whatever.
Might be worth a look if you have access to recorder guts.
