Well, if you look at Fairchild's site,

you'll find that a 2N3906 is a "PNP General Purpose Amplifier". For
information on any of their transistors, look down the list and click on
the one you want. You can print or download a datasheet for each device
from here.
That's a worthwhile website to bookmark.
