Um you can use 'Zap a gap' thick CA glue, however Araldite/epoxy should be
ok for what you are doing. As Dave said, contamination is likely the
culprit, or possibly it started to cure before you used it. Make sure that
you mix in the correct amounts and mix thoroughly (althou I am sure I need
not say this :)
With aluminium (and other metals) scoring the surface with a (cheap) sharp
knife or VERY rough sandpaper give the epoxy a good surface to 'grab' onto.
Don't forget to clean the surfaces (again) with a solvent/s (metho) and away
you go. Give the epoxy one more try!!!
