well well well, the old CPU vs. BEAM conflict. If you want more
versatility, go with the mindstorms, but be aware that you only get two
motors, and the max is three. the same goes for sensors. 3 motors and
3 sensors... not to versatile. while the photopopper kit is more
interesting, the solaroller is easier to build, and neither require
batteries. neither of the kits have any real versatility without
hacking them, but they are good for beginners, and their non-kit
counterparts (free-formed) can be built indefinite ways. If you are
liking BEAM, go with the photopopper, it is more interesting than the
solaroller, but if you want (limited) versatility and to have to buy
batteries all the time, buy the mindstorms. personally, i'd go with
the photopopper.
