Subject: [alt-beam] BEAM vs. Mindstorms
Hi! I am interested in getting into Robotics, and have spent several hours
online looking for info to help me get started. I have narrowed my choices
down a Lego Mindstorms kit or a BEAM robitics kit from Solarbotics. I have
soldered about once in my life, and am currently reading a (very good) book
on electronics that I found recomended on one of the BEAM sites - "Getting
started in Electronics." I have enough cash to get either,and I am too
conflicted to decide, so I thought that I'd put the question out to more
knowledgeble people. So what do you think would be better for a beginning
roboticist - (a) Minstorms Kit or (b) Solarbotics Sollaroller, or (c)
solarbotics Photopopper. Thanks for you time, and all the great info!
