Subject: [alt-beam] SERVO troubles

ok, would i offend anyone if i just came out and said that i found servos
down right ugly? Especially when compared to the walkers using those lens
motor jobs, i just don't think the servo "looks" right, but anyways...

got the servo modified and even got so far today as to hook an H-Bridge
circut (THANKS IAN!) up to test and it werked really good, took circut off
to "PLASTI-DIP" the thing (circut .. not the servo) so there would be no
shorts...
later noticed resitance when i turn the shaft on this particular servo was
really really strong, i hooked it up again and it didn't werk.. tested
the h-bridge on my other servo.. it werked fine...
whys the durn thang busted? thats $10 ya know! did i set the thing down
too close to my Soldering iron?
shaft WILL turn,(by hand) but it is way to strong.
I know that someone's web page says "even the best of us burn out a motor
once in a while" but how'd i do it with it just sittin there... pretty
sure circut didn't fry it cause it werked ok on other motor.
next question... are burned out servos any use? pull motor out and slap a
pager motor in there? I dunno.
just a 1/12 hr drive to the nearest servo buying place. thats why i'm griped.
