Subject: [alt-beam] Turning a walker
content-transfer-encoding: quoted-printable
content-type: text/plain;
Hey guys, =
All this talk about how to get a walker to turn. It's sim=
ple, do the same thing as a 4 legged walker in nature does, ie. a dog for e=
xample. It does not change it's gait to turn a corner. (could do, a bit) =
What a dog does is keep the same gait and just bend at the middle, down the=
spine. So have a standard 2 motor walker add a waist hinge, and add a mo=
tor controlled by a head that turns the waist using 90 degree gears or some=
thing like that. Do you guys know what I mean? Picture a very long dog..=
... an extended sausage dog, walking around a corner. The same can be don=
e for our walkers. If you want a better explanation, reply to me and I wil=
l endeavour to explain better.
Oh, I am still to build anything using a uCore, but I will get there. Als=
o I am better with ideas than with my hands.....Pity
