You can use a lower resistance, say, 1k. Especially if the motor isn't very
efficient.

Transistors with PINS DOWN, FLAT FACE TOWARDS YOU:
Emitter, Base, Collector

On a schematic:
- Emitter always has the arrow.
- Base is always the middle connection
- Collector is always the non-arrow on the other side

1381 with PINS DOWN, FLAT FACE TOWARDS YOU:
Output, Vcc (+), Gnd (-)

On a schematic, the 1381 is usually shown like an opamp (sideways trangle)
