Subject: [alt-beam] 1381 SE Analysis

Hello fello BEAMers,

I finally ordered some 1381's and they are frustrating me. I am using a
1381 C (2.0 V trigger voltage) with the regular SE (3906, 3904, 2.2K)
with a pager motor and a solar cell that will supply around 2.4 volts.

With a 1000 uf cap, the thing charges the cap up (Yes, it does, i've
tested that part :) and then the motor sits there tacking. The closer I
get to the lamp, the more it ticks.

After searching my messages, I found a message that said to use a biger
cap. I moved up to 4700 uF. Same thing.

Any suggestions?

I'm thinking this:
1.) 1381 fires, motor starts up but creates huge voltage drop, circuit
never latches, motor stops, voltage goes back up, 1381 fires. etc... How
do I fix this? Replace the resistor? With what?

2.) 1381 fires, but the circuit just never latches.

After I'm done with this circuit and get my replies, I'm going to write
out a how-to on these damn things :) If you reply, if you could please
include: pin out of transistors (EBC I beleive) and 1381 (123) and what
the parts on their schematic symbols are (The arrow on the transistors
is the emmiter?) I would really appreciate it so I could verify.

Thank you all very much,
Kyle
