Welcome to BEAM. symets are one of my favorite type of bots as mine
really resemble small prehistoric very unintellignet insectlike
creatures. they can be in any shape or size but basically are
solarengines bent into shapes that allow them to flip around in a
random pattern every time the motor acitvates. all of my symets (thus
far) use the 1381 Solar engine design, sandwhiched between a walkman
tape player motor and a solar cell. sometimes mine have little legs
coming out of them for balance. every time the motor spins, (that is
the only part touching the ground) the entire bot jumps and flips
around. symets can have add ons like light seeking heads (this has
really been talked about recently on the list) or other such
acoutriments (is that how you spell that???)

have fun with symets
