Subject: [alt-beam] Re: Transistor MicroCore

Hello transistor-people,

You might remember that not such a long time ago Wilf posted the schematics
of a CMOS-transistor-microcore to the list, with a description of the
things he observer. Of course (but people tend to forget this in the
74-era) inverters can be and are made of transistors. In the 74-series they
use so many of them to get nice 'digital' properties, but in fact it is
possible (referring to Wilf's post) to make an inverter of one single
transistor.
I don't know what Mark Tilden did in the early years of Beam, maybe he used
transistors, maybe not; maybe he used them sometimes to see what the
differences would be. For myself I didn't do much with single transistors
because I still have trouble imagening what exactly happens ... need to get
some more experience with transistor, but I sure do think it is very
interesting and I'm planning to at least experiment a bit with them.

For a schematic you might refer to Wilf's original post at the
list-archive, which can be found as you probably know at:
http://www.egroups.com/list/alt-beam/
His message dates 09/05/99 and had the subject 'Qcore'.

Have fun,

Wouter Brok.
