Hi James,

pin 1 on 245 is a direction control pin which means if you connect it (pin
1) to ground all input are
set to pin 18,17,16,15,14,13,12,11 and output are set to pin 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9

if you connect pin 1 to v+ and all input are set to pin 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and
output are set to 18,17,16,15,14,13,12,11
