Subject: [alt-beam] Re: gear motors

Omrom makes the eject motors for Macintosh floppy drives. They look
oddly similar to the ones at All Electronics, and they utilize that
pulse/revolve feature. There is a cam that pulls the eject button (it
doesn't actualy come out of the front of the drive like on a PC though).
The cam needs to make one full revolution, so what they did was have a
normaly open switch that attaches to 5v+ and the motor. The other motor
pin is attached to Gnd. The pulse pin is attached between the switch and motor.

Considering Apple no longer puts floppy drives in their machines, it's
possible the manufacturer of the motor sold off the surplus motors??? Maybe!
