Um... Solarbotics has a monopoly on caps and motors? Since when is
that?

I really can't see that anyone is forced to buy such parts from
Solarbotics. The solar panel situation is more difficult, but even
for those there are alternatives. All vendors can ask whatever they
want, and all customers can buy or not as they please. So what's
the problem?
I am a bit surprised to hear Dave call his $300 ScoutWalker an
educational kit, but whoever buys it will surely learn something :)
