Subject: [alt-beam] FAQ project (please help)
About the project-----
OK, I think this will help everyone and make life easier for a lot of
people. Beginners will like this because they will be able to find
answers to their questions and more advanced people will like it because
they will only have to write the answer to frequently asked questions
once and then if someone asks a question that's in the FAQ all they will
have to is say "Just go to http://www.beam-online.com/faq
for the
answer". This could happen but I need your help.
So what is the FAQ project?-----
Since I don't have the time to write up long descriptions to FAQ's I'm
asking you to help. What I need is an e-mail from you with a question and
an answer that everyone will benefit from or one that you are just tired
of answering. The FAQ's can also include troubleshooting information and
lots of other stuff. It would be good that you reply also to the list so
I don't get multiple e-mails about the same question and it will also be
good because someone might find an answer to the question they were just
about to ask.
Can I request an answer?-----
Sure, just e-mail it to the list and I or someone else can answer it and
it can be added to the FAQ. Please ask single questions only and don't
ask more than two or three. A good example (and one that I happened to
want the answer to is.... "What's the difference between a microcore and
a bicore?". If anyone has the answer I'd like to know (and add it to the
FAQ page)
Where will the FAQ be located?-----
It will be on BEAM Online at "http://www.beam-online.com/faq".
There's no
page there at the moment so don't bother looking. I will also include a
form where people can submit a question or an answer.
Thanks for your help and I hope this will help more people get involved
in BEAM and answer some of your questions whether your a newbi or an
advanced BEAMer. Laterz
