That's what you get when you mess around with the parameters of a reactive
(inductive) load!

BTW: is your bicore driving the motor directly or do you have some kind of
driver between the bicore and the motor?

Can you imagine what happens if your sensor isn't (mostly just) resistive
but was reactive? (presuming a suspended bicore)
