Subject: [alt-beam] I'm Back!
Hi all!
Most of the long timers should remember me. I have been way too busy to
do much robot stuff in the past 6 months as the Intel 'crunch' mode has
taken up what little time I did have to build....well that combined with
a 1.5 year old and another on the way.....it's CRAZY.
Anyway, I have been monitering the list although deleting most of the
messages without reading them.
A few new updates:
1) My new boss is into 'simulating' behavioral robots and lent me the
book 'Vehicles' by Valentino Braitenberg. If you haven't read this book
yet and you are into beam please do so. Very amazing stuff and it has
given me tons of ideas on things to built.
2) Just bought a robot arm kit at a local Fry's that was on a killer 50%off.
I'm almost done building it. It was worth the $35 for the gearboxes alone!
(before anyone asks, not suitable for walkers as they gearboxes are
WAY to high torque and slow moving.
Anyway, I think I MAY just have enough time to start building again.
Either way, I haven't stopped dreaming up ideas in my head...my only
problem is TIME.
Did I catch that there is going to be another contest?
Well....I'm back.
