Subject: [alt-beam] Success! (will be: Efficient SEs)
Morning list,
I'm very happy to report that I first BEAM creation is alive and firing. It's a
trimet based on one of solarbotics' downloadables
("http://www.solarbotics.com/downloads.shtml"),
and uses a FLED SE and a motor
dug out of an old answering machine. I also added a lower ring for the negative
connections, instead of using the motor casting.
Testing it this morning (under bright Hawaiian sunshine), I found that it
charges for about 2.5 s, and then fires for less than half a second. For my
next project, I'm was thinking of making a more efficient version (one that
would fire for longer), and am wondering what the best type of SE would be.
Wondering Aimlessly,
James Anderson
