Subject: [alt-beam] Re: Waterproofing
Hi,
I think the better way (the simplest for BEAM stuff) of making a DC motor
going underwater is NOT to waterproof it (sorry 4 my bad english, I'm
french... did you understand me?)
In fact, if you go on my web page ( http://sham.citeweb.net
), you will see
a small R/C Submarine which use DC motor running directly in water. And I
only change them once a year...
I'm affraid any kind of waterproofing (seals, U-rings, oil, etc...) will
increase energy consumption and decrease motor efficiency. And you know how
BEAM bots have a lot of energy to use! :-)
Regards,
Sham.
