Subject: [alt-beam] class for Los Angeles students
Newbridge High School (private non-sectarian) is offering a
beginning electronics and BEAM robotics class for three weeks in
June. The class will count towards physical science credit for
high school. The class is open to 8th-12th graders and will teach
soldering and fabrication, reading schematics, basic
electricity and circuits, etc... I have been teaching this class during
the fourth quarter and so far we have built solar-rollers (they
cover almost 10M in a few seconds!), flashers, trouble-shot solar
engines and VCRs. We pull our motors from pagers, CDs etc., and
have a lot of fun with walkers. Newbridge School is in west LA
