I remember a Scientific American article a few years back that discussed
a robot cricket the author built to act like a female cricket following
the chirping of a male crickett. Wait, Ill look it up...

It's the December 1996 Issue of Scientific American, and the title is A
Cricket Robot, by Barbara Webb.

The article probably won't describe the details of her robot, but, I'm
sure you could find the scientific paper she wrote.
