How about taking a look at a much better engineered circuit?
Has anyone noticed the trick Terry Newton used to add electrostatic
feelers to his walker robot? This works better than a peak (pulse)
detector on an AM radio receiver.
Oh yes, I'd like to see a BEAM deisgn that can tote around a LC tank
circuit resonant at 60 hz!
All you really need is an MPF-102 fet and a resistor or two. Terry's
walker has these E field probe FET's across the CSD cell eyes, but
something similar might be done with the photodiodes of a popper class
bot as well.
