FLEDs have a light sensitivity problem, so that may be the cause here. Cover
in black electrical tape or black heatshrink (don't roast the fled though).
For some reason, some types/brands/batches/colours seem to 'leak' the
current if they are exposed to current, instead of charging and firing. Hope
this helps
