If you do that, you may as well use a zener diode, which will give you the
same effect. The point of the FLED is that it has about a 50% duty cycle,
and when it's off, it draws very little power (between blinks). But you can
use the same trick to raise the trigger voltage of a FLED SE (2.4V with
FLED, 3.1V with FLED & diode in series)
