I suppose the best thing would be more like a battery charger, and maybe
an SCR or transistor to activate the current flow to the load. The
transistor could allow the flow to turn off, but requires a contstant
signal to run. The SCR will turn on if you send it a pulse, and keep
gonig till discharged. Not sure what kind of current level's you are
interested in though. Good luck.
