The FLEDs I've seen act like a plain diode when you reverse them,
so the voltage across won't rise to more than about 0.6V in that
case. At 2.45V, it's probably connected the right way around, and
it should be flashing visibly. If not, make sure you cover it using
a fairly long bit of heat-shrink; In any sort of light a slowly
rising voltage tends to lock up the current crop of FLEDs.
