Yup. I did some experiments using the latest CMOS 555's about 2 or 3 years
ago. The current draw was around 10~25 uA, and the set time interval
shortened (!) under low light. I understand that zetex has a new micropower
555 out now - I should repeat my experiments.

Included is a tiny 5k file showing a test PCB I once made. If anybody wants
the original AutoCAD 12 file, let me know...
