Kind of a sad statement. But if that is what it takes .... I
suggested breaking the project into
several parts most of which look quite neutral to me.

As opposed to "The BEAM Empire"? But seriously, count me in!
(Slightly off topic) We should explore some of the obvious links
between BEAM
and science fiction.
When I was a young lad, I read this story by AE van Vogt where they
had these self-
assembling bug bots stealing Walkmans, greeting cards and
calculators and the occasional
pound of flesh for raw materials. Actually it was relays and vacuum
tubes but you get the
picture.
