I suppose that'll work if you want nothing but the full 3600:1 reduction.
But to tune the geartrain, I've had to peel it right out and shift the
gears up on the shafts to get rid of the endplay.

The shrinkwrap is a good idea, except that it sucks into the gearhousing a
bit and rubs on the gears.

Yes, absolutely correct. I guess we just need custom-machined OTU housings
in the future.. (grin!)
