I hate to tell stories like this, but it goes down to one of the rules of
BEAM Robotics: If you find something cool, BUY THEM ALL!

Mark found the gears at a local surplus dealer. He had got them in one of
those assortment drawer sets as part of a pallet most surplus gets sold in.
Being Mark, he looked at the drawers and said "How much for them all?"

$100 bucks later he was walking to his car with easily 1000 brass and steel
gears of all sizes and shapes.... I hate it when he does that!
