Bucking the trend perhaps, as far as I'm concerned, the higher the
price, the better.
We are all sick and tired of choking on disgusting fumes from entire
vehicles driven just to transport a single person per vehicle so that
they can maintain a sedentary lifestyle in the hopes of clogging up the
health system with entirely preventable heart failure, victims of
motorised crashes, unneccesary cancers, and all the other problems
steming from a culture wedded to its motor vehicles.

Tax the shit out of gas - double the price overnight. The social
benefits will be immense. A car per person is a luxary we don't need.

And what does all this have to do with BEAM? Er... two (very tenious)
things:
1) the BEAM list is probably not really a suitable place to drum up
support for unrelated market activism. We are not quite "all" sick and
tired of "high" prices for social (and biological) poisons.
2) I prefer the BEAM tendancy to (indirectly) choose better energy
sources.
(Ok, so that one's _really_ reaching... :-)
