While pondering the most simple solar motor. I was wondering if you could
use JUST a FLED and an SCR without any resistors. could a properly matched
SCR be fired by a FLED and so make an extremly simple moter driver?
I'm asking because while I have not built a BEAM, I do have use for such
circuits.
I want to build a solar powered window chime which will use multiple copies
of this circuit. The end goal is to make a low voltage analog of a neon bulb
flasher where there is very little drain until it fires and BAM a chime goes
off...
If this simple circuit would work than I could use one solar panal to charge
up multiple caps each driving their FLED-SCR chime coil [yes you could put
bells on your BEAM... in either a random order or a puesdo sequential order.
Please give comments.
I also want to make a set of white led chase lights using this idea. I just
hope that if I use 10 led's I can get away with 10 SCR's and 10 FLED's and
not need 20 transistors or unijunction transistors or resistors.
I hope you don't mind topics that are a little off as long as they mention
circuits/ideas you can use in fancy BEAMS [grin]
