Subject: [alt-beam] Sensor Idea
A hypothetical question: Does a real ant have separate sets of
feelers for edge detection, wall feeling at different heights, etc? No,
they move their feelers around. (need i say more? I guess I will :-)
All someone would have to do is have an optosensor disc on the motor
shaft so the circuit could tell whether the sensor was SUPPOSED to be
closed (edge detection, down position) or OPEN (wall sensor, up
position) Only practical for larger bots, due to the motors or whatever
for moving the feelers around, but if they were moved erratically
enough, they could be scarily lifelike...
