Hello all,
I just got my BEAM booklet from Mondotronics. VERY disappointing. It's just a
rundown of the rules of BEAM games and winners from 3 or 4 consecutive years.
There isn't any real useful information in it. The photos are HORRIBLE. Has
anyone connected with the printing of this glossy covered, spiral bound
pamphlet ever heard of a halftone? The main reason I bought the thing was to
get a better look at Tilden's mechanics. No hope of that here. Many of the
Xerox looking monotones are completely illegible. The photos that are
halftones seem to be shot from color photos that were color processed to begin
with, causing a very pronounced moraie pattern. Terrible, unprofessional
quality. I've seen better homemade flyers for yard sales. I also wanted to see
more of Tilden's ideas I've seen mentioned in different locations. The robot
lawn mower idea for instance. Is there another book that is available that has
photos and text that is informative and legible? I'm probably going to return
this booklet because frankly it's a waste of money. All the information in it
and more can be found online. Most of it is outdated, and the photos are
photos in name only. But hey, I got two kewl buttons for my 25.00 bucks.
Jim
