Subject: [alt-beam] 240mA!!!

Whoa! I was browsing through my Mondo-Tronics(The Robot Store) catalog,
when I saw a Fischertechnik Solar Kit that includes a 3V solar panel with
a whopping 240mA output! The kit also includes a 10 farad capacitor! WOW!
The drawback, of course, is the price: $160 for the full kit, $110 for
the "Solar Add-On", which includes the above panel, capacitor, and a
motor.
For those of you who don't know what Fischertechnik is, it is an
*extremely* high quality construction system. Light years ahead of Legos,
it was designed for engineers to make fast prototypes...
MondoTronics sells, to my knowledge, the full FischerTechnik line. They
ain't cheap, but...
Has anyone had any experience with this Solar set? It looks like a good
buy to me. I mean, how much does a 10 farad capacitor cost, anyway? Iv'e
certainly never seen one...
And it looks like they have their own solarengine-type setup; it says it
has a "drive circuit"...

Jonathan
