Subject: [alt-beam] Solarbotics

Well, I just have to say this. I spent about $107 at Solarbotics a week ago
and I got my stuff today (so 7 day for the $6 shipping isn't bad). I bought
the Solar Speeder kit, 100 or those 1/8" photo diodes, 2 pager motors, two
coils, and 4 22X24 solar cells. Now if some of you have been to my site
http://welcome.to/bumper314
you may notice that I am not a newbie (I just cant build solar rollers worth
crap). I have knocked on Solarbotics in the past about their prices, but I
have to say that this quality is amazing. I compared these pager motors that
Dave sells to the motors that Ian was selling (I actually got mine from BG
Micro) and the ones Dave has are far better. They are both made my the same
company but this is the better motor. The shaft is twice as thick and they
have more torque so they are easier to work with. Those photodiodes are great,
and most of all, the kit. Very startling when you see it zoom off. I upped the
trigger to 2.4v and that was kind of a mistake. I don't have enough space for
it to run. So basically what I'm getting at and what I realized is that Dave
is one of the only suppliers of BEAM parts and even though the price might be
a little much for me, the quality and service cant be beat. Just had to say
it.....

Steve
