Subject: [alt-beam] stressed by the moon :-(

Hello all, first of all :-)

I have only just bought and read the Stiquito project book, and I
don't know if I'll become a good robot engineer one day (I don't even
know how to solder yet). I think I will definitely stick to related
research (alife) in one form or another, though.

So, I am really glad to have found BEAM - it sounds like the right
stuff :-)

Now to the subject of my post - you will probably break out into
laughter now, but I am actually kind of serious:

I just hit (again) on that page that sells land on the moon and the
other planets of our solar system: www.lunarembassy.com.

Most people seem to take this as a joke, but I, as a potential robot
engineer, am more concerned. A while ago I had this idea of
putting small robots on the moon and let people see through their
eyes via internet, and as I read in the Stiquito book, I am not the
only one (compare Roger Gilbertson comments on applications for
'Boris' - once again I was not as original as I had thought...). So in
a way I have a real commercial interest in the moon.

My question therefore: what do you all think about this? I am
actually tempted to simply buy a piece of the moon from
lunarembassy (it's quite cheap) and be done with it, but I don't
really have the time right now to study the moon and other planets
to see what are good spots (at the very least, it should be facing
the earth I suppose - the moon doesn't spin, if I remember
correctly?).
They actually seem to be a fairly likeable bunch of people at
lunarembassy, but I am simply stressed. Do the claims really
hold? Should I act now before it is too late?

All comments welcome - including recommendations for good
spots on the planets, ie for fighting arenas, racing tracks,
exploaration etc... :-)

bye,

Bjoern Guenzel
