Greetings List, just going to add a few pennies to the pot..

The fact is that many a BEAM site is identical to another site. Yep. My site
is one of those usual BEAM sites. There's nothing wrong with that. I build
sites mostly for myself, not for others. Not all the sites can be as
elaborate as Ian's. There seems to be 4 classes of BEAM sites. The greats
(BEAM Online, Fang's, BEAM Tek, Solarbotics, etc), the usual average (SunBEAM,
RobotCentral, Bumper's (steve's), My site [not to say mine is as good as some
of these...yet], etc), the galaries (you know what I'm talking about), and the
no-content newbies (most of these turn into the usual average but some just
stay barren). There can only be a few "greats" and the "usual average" class
is pretty good and allows for expansion. There are plenty of galaries and
these are just fine, they allow us to show off our bots. .... Ok, I don't know
where I'm going with all this...On to something more specific...

Ian's site is very complete and frankly, my favorite BEAM site. Now, what I am
about to say may scare, perhaps even shock some of you 8)!
Not to seem negative or anti-fang (new term? hehe) but, I do not think Fang's
site is all that fantastic. It's got excellent news and a great "How to" on a
photovore but that's about it. Sure, there are pictures of some neat walkers
but that sums it up. Perhaps the reason that people always see Fang's site as
one of the best is because the information it _does_ give is high-quality.
Either that or just because it was one of the first BEAM sites (am I right on
this one?).
