According to the specs I had at the time (the Digikey catalog) they
were both rated at about 2 amps. The PDFs I just got from www.zetex.com
mostly confirm this - 6718=1.5 amps, 6790=2 amps, have to heatsink to
get that. The resistor sizes I use (1K range) limit the current to a
few hundred ma anyway so how many amps over that makes little difference.
The 6718 was listed as having a bit more guaranteed gain so with no
other selection pressures I picked that one... guess I'm strange!
