Wow, a 7 year old message. Must be that warp in the time fabric some
one was talking about :-)
Its probably the transistor is dead or its polarity (pin orientation) is
wrong. How did you measure the 10k resistance? You are not supposed to
measure resistance in a live circuit. It could damage your multimeter.
Also the readings are misleading as the external power source (solar
cell in this case) will interfere with the current flowing through the
meter.
