Try "rm [filename.html]"

eg
rm index.html

then put the new pages up.
rm is the UNIX command to remove a file. I'm not sure if it works in FTP (I
think it does, but for some reason Windows 95 refused to install a copy of
ftp on my PC emulator so I can't test it) but it's worth trying.
