A cell is a single unit (note parallel to things in your body). A
group of identical units is called a battery as in an electrical
battery, an artillery battery etc.
The panels contain many cells mounted on one base, often on one
substrate to achieve the necessary 2 to 3 volts. Each cell as you
probably know gives only 0.6V.
Thus they (panels) are a solar battery.
