p.s. There seems to be an increasing tendency to include the entirety of
someone else's note in people's replies to the list. It seems somewhat
silly to tack on two lines to a message that is already 25 lines (or worse)
long... I don't know about anyone else, but I hope that we can reduce the
amount of bandwidth we use by quoting only enough of someone else's note
necessary to provide context.
VERY IMPORTANT: if you wish to discuss this further, please send me email
privately. I feel rather awkward about even putting this note on the list.
