I believe Scotty's units used a 1.5F 2.5V cap that did propel it down to
the bottom in one long burst.

Ever hear of "Lindsay's Technical Books" [?]......
For the most part, this company reprints books that are out of
"copyright".. and some new also....
Really neat books, on casting metal... to making explosives...
and everything in between.....
They have a number of catalogs... Metal Working, Electronics,
and Secrets... This is the one that "could / should" interest
Beamers.... four books on robots, ..... a lot of information,
of all kinds that could be used to build robots....
Just read the [all] catalogs from cover to cover....
The prices aren't bad at all [Shipping is $1 for the first book
and 50 cents for additional]
So call for a copy of the "Secrets" catalog.... and
get on the mailing list....... You won't be sorry...
