It has a 1:1 ratio. It is used when you need to isolate a circuit from
ground. They are used a lot in audio. it kills the "60Hz harmony"

Yeah it's sometimes called "The Internet". It is a widely used device that
has listing for just about everything imaginable. Hotspots for electronics
are http://www.digikey.com Look under their product line. there are
datasheets for just about everything. If not try National
Semiconductors(Digikey has a link.)

Put it in the BBQ pit for a while, then hit the board on the side of
something it all flies off. OR you could buy a desoldering gun.. $$$$
