Subject: [alt-beam] Atmel AT89S8252 ISP programming on SPI port difficulty..Any ideas ?

Hi,

I having alot of difficulty with the Atmel AT89S8252 in getting the
ISP programming while using the SPI port (serial mode)

I hear some info from a Atmel distributor that these processor have
been a 'probelm child' when it comes to SIP programming when using the
SPI port.

Has anyone any experience is alleviating this problem  ?

I have tried the SPI programer in Bascom Basic, and the Blast8252 SPI
programmer.

I going to try the Equinox SPi progrmmer next.

I was hoping I could use only the freeware tool, Blast8252, but I'm
not having any luck.

I happen to be using a AMD K6-2 233Mhz motherboard.

I experienced in the past where the parallel port on this motherboard
runs faster than on anIntel motherboard, thus screwing up the aoftware
timer loops used in the programming algorithms.

This affected the Atmel 89C2051 Flash programmer from Unity Online.

however, I tried the SPi programmer on my other 486 machine ithout
succes, so now I don't know what to check next unitl I get the Equinox
SPI programmer

Please Email any replys you may have

thanks,

Daniel

(pager/beeper motors). You can get thos from www.solarbotics.com for $10
each or tey your local pager store. Wlkaer motors are more tricky. About
once a year a company called BG Micro (www.bgmicor.com) sells some motors
for two for US$8. Those go very quickly. Other than that, we get them from
other surplus places and trashed electronics. for walkers you want a motor
that operates at a few volts and not much more than 100ma. The lower the
power consution the better. RPM should be around 30-45. Hope this helps.
