well, I agree with the neat-ness of the Ecosystem idea, but I think we as
beamer seriously don't have the reasources to do something like that. Think
of it, we all build REALLY nice, durable, bots. right? Well I'll bet you
money that the builders are going to want to KEEP their bot's home with
them. If we all submit one bot, then we have do for what some equates to
giving away a child, (SERIOUSLY! People put a great deal of effort into
these things, and they don't want their creations threatened. Especailly
since it took MONEY.) Then what would be do? Send them all to me? I'd keep
them in my Bedroom??? The logistics are enormous. Who would get the beam
park? Me or you, or him? Who get's priority? On top of that, how are we
going to study this?

Now I think each of us building our OWN beam 'hive's' is a good idea.
Something I'm working on with walkers. And it would be our own satisfaction.
If someone sat down and COMMITED to something, somthing could be done. For
example a BIG Robot Expo, (something that perhaps required more than Just
BEAM robots) like COMDEX would CERITANLY be in order. Robots have nearly as
huge a technical field as computers and could certianlly draw the same sort
of crowd as the COMDEX affair. Don't think so? I'm not talking JUST BEAM.
I'm talking BEAM and everyone else. University's would be there. Companies,
WEb buisness's BEAMERs, Hobbyists, EVERYONE. Demonstrations, talks, papers
published, books for sale, If you don't think it would be ludicrously huge,
then you don't know robotics.

Now this is a little off topic, but the point was, that at something like
this we could all go, (or send our bots entrusted to someone) and they could
sit in some kind of demonstration for like a week. How brilliant would that
be? It would should the BEAM scorning robotics world that BEAMERS are
actually building alot of stuff, and unlike other people's various
creations, ours could all 'live' together peacefully for a small period of
time. See? I think the dynamics are possible but though has to go in it. I
personally would like to see some sort of convention deal. But thats far
fetched for now.
