Subject: [alt-beam] Hmm...How should I word the subject...
Hello all
I was wondering if anyone wanted to help me start a nationwide BEAM
club, which would take a step beyond a mailing list, into a sort of
club... with a monthly newsletter, etc, and if we all pooled orders to
digikey, etc we could save TONS of money. if I can find some
supporters, I WILL do this. It would be a great way for people who
are really into this stuff a chance to get more than just
emails...(although emails are cool :-) for example, the 1381 voltage
detectors cost like 83 cents each, but if you buy 100, they are like
54 cents each. and the monthly newsletter could include NEW
schematics, etc and the BEAM elite and those who, like me, know a lot
about it but don't have much(hardly any) actual experience actually
building these things. i mean, we could have like a construction
article every month where we all pool our knowledge and draw up a set
of plans for making all sorts of BEAM bots. we could have articles on
solarollers right up to the 'mysterious' (hardly any info anywhere!!!)
turbot! of course, it might be necessary to have yearly dues, kinda
like a magazine, but ONLY to cover printing costs... like 5 or 10
bucks? we could have columns by certain people each month, etc etc
etc, and people could email in certain articles they would like put in
the newsletter. Anyone who subscribed would benefit, and we could all
have a central homepage, with links directly to info on our other
pages... Please, anyone
