I should perhaps clarify - by "full circuit", I meant the one I made out
of Alf. It (_not_ Alf) seems to use a fair bit of power. The Alf circuit
itself is very efficient, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it as a
great photovore circuit and platform for more. (Not that I have all that
much experience to put behind my recommendations but I won't let that
mere detail stop me :-)

And talking about favourite circuits, I'd just like to say my current
Favourite Component of the Day is the 1N4148 diode.
They're cheap, easy to work with, and above all, very small.
I like very small. :-)
