Subject: [alt-beam] Re: I found some geared Motors, will they work?
What we would need is:
* The numbers on the motors... And the gearhead.
* What type of walking Robot you want to build..
- battery or solar
- Solar requires higher efficiency motors.
Why the numbers on the motor and gearhead?
1. The serial number on the motor tells:
- gives us a model so we can look up the
specifications on the motor.
* Detailed dimensions, shaft size
* Efficientcy and quality of the motors
2. The gear head model number gives:
- Gear ratio
- quality and type of gearing
There should probably be a number like:
40.5:1 or 60:1 or 100:1 or 400:1 or 1024:1
Most walkers (that I know of) are in the 100:1 to 400:1 gear ratio.
To help, I found the WWW site for their motors/gearheads:
http://namikipa.com/
Motors:
http://namikipa.com/motor.htm
GearHeads:
http://namikipa.com/gear.htm
I hope that helps.. Also could you mention the name of the place
and how to contact them, after you secured the resources you need
as well as, the asking price.
